Sell at the counter and online from the same shelf, and reward the customers who come back.
A shop with a website usually ends up with two stock counts, two customer lists and a loyalty card in a drawer. The website sells the last bottle the counter sold an hour ago, online orders are typed into the till, and a return becomes a refund nobody can match to the stock. As an Odoo partner, we set up the point of sale and the online store on the same products, prices and stock, with a loyalty programme that works in both and returns that put the item back on the shelf and the refund in the books.
- The till and the website on the same stock
- Loyalty points earned and spent in the shop and online
- Every refund tied to its original sale
Let the till and the website sell from the same shelf, so a sale in either place updates what the other can sell.
When the counter and the website keep separate counts, someone reconciles them on a quiet afternoon and the gaps turn up as cancelled web orders. The point of sale runs in a browser on a tablet or a counter screen with the shop's products, categories and pictures, and the online store shows the same products with what is actually in stock. A sale at the counter and an order on the website come out of the same warehouse, and the product page tells shoppers how many are left.
- The same products and prices at the till and on the website
- Stock shown online is the stock on the shelf
- A till that runs on a tablet, a laptop or a counter screen
- Cash and card takings posted to the books for each session
Turn first-time buyers into regulars with points they earn at the counter and spend on the website.
A punch card works until it goes through the wash, and the online store never knew it existed. The loyalty programme is set up once: points for every dollar spent, rewards at the thresholds you choose, valid in the shop, on the website or both. At the till the cashier picks the customer and the balance is right there, and online the customer sees it at checkout. Gift cards, promotions and discount codes run from the same place, and every purchase stays on the customer's record for your next mailing.
- Points per dollar, with rewards you choose
- The same balance at the counter and online
- Gift cards, promotions and discount codes in the same place
- Purchase history for mailings to the right customers
Take a return in a few taps, refund it the way it was paid, and put the item straight back into sellable stock.
Returns are where a shop's numbers drift: the refund comes out of the drawer, the beanie goes on a chair in the back, and the count is wrong until the next stocktake. At the till a return starts from the original receipt, so the price, the tax and the customer are already right; the refund goes back to the card or the cash drawer, the item goes back into stock, and the two orders are linked. Online orders are returned the same way from the delivery, and the credit note follows.
- Returns started from the original receipt
- Refunds to the payment method that was used
- Returned items back in stock automatically
- Each refund linked to its sale in the books
